What is Proximity?
Proximity is critical in dismantling the impacts of dehumanization and partnering with the most vulnerable, so that together we can move beyond crisis management towards systemic change.

About Us
Proximity was founded in 2023, and inspired through connection with like-minded workers in the areas of migrant and refugee support and advocacy. Founding members are Miki and Charlie Chastain, Ash McEuen, and Rachel Bjork.
Mission Statement
While we are grateful for your financial support, Proximity is not only reliant on donations. Our work includes hosting “market & showcase” events, as opportunities for connection and learning. Proximity also offers for sale products made by sustainable, non-slave-dependent, refugee-supporting sources, with all proceeds going directly back to Proximity and its mission.
Proximity‘s mission is to dismantle the effects of dehumanization in our communities, through relationship-building, advocacy, and humanitarian aid. We seek to develop sustainable resourcing and successful community integration for our migrant neighbors, including the eventual development of transitional housing for migrant and refugee families.
